Bike Arena Tour No. 41

From the starting point, the "Hachtor", you first ride a short distance through the historic town center of Rüthen towards the cemetery. This is located on the site of the town's former castle. Directly in front of the cemetery, turn right down the Borgberg and continue along the valley of the Kitzelbach stream. After crossing the B 516 and the Möhne river, the tour leads eastwards parallel to the Möhne to the Hankerfeld industrial estate, from there through the picturesque "Bibertal" valley, past the outdoor pool to the start of the "Bibertal forest adventure trail". Here the route branches off to the right. It goes up into the Rüthen town forest. You cycle a longer stretch along the Höhenweg. Shortly before the Brilon city forest, turn left onto the crossroads down into the Obere Bibertal valley, then up again on the opposite side and back downhill into the Möhnetal valley. Cross the B 516 again and continue up the Hengelsbachtal valley on the opposite side. At the border to Büren (Historischer Schnadstein / border to the Soest-Paderborn-Hochsauerlandkreis districts), the route first turns left up the hill and after 400m turns left towards the valley. After another 400m, the route branches off in a north-westerly direction and leads below the Immenköpfe ridge to the K 45. Follow this uphill and reach the junction to the "Kneblinghausen Roman camp" at the edge of the forest. Immediately behind it are the paddocks of "Gestüt Wittekindshof", one of the most successful stud farms in Germany. Continue north until shortly before the Meiste industrial estate, which you bypass on the left. To the west of the village of Meiste, follow the cycle path leisurely to the starting point in the center of Rüthen.
